What future for peace in DRC?

By February 19, 2017January 9th, 2024News

Things change quickly in DRC politics, and the latest development is the death of Étienne Tshisekedi, the respected opposition leader who was key in brokering the peace deal that would see him lead a transition government to democratic elections in 2017.

Since his death, President Kabila’s budget minister has announced that holding an election will be “too expensive”, once again opening up the prospect of opposition unrest and violence.

We will continue to share the limited news coming out of DRC with you via Facebook and the website, and ask that you continue to stand with us through these difficult times.
