Our secondary school is part of a village called Bembeyi on the outskirts of Bunia. The secondary school was closed for a lot of the 2023/24 school year due to concerns about rebel activity in the region, with classes held at the primary school during the afternoon.
We are happy to report that normal service has resumed in the current school year, with the added bonus of being able to re-open our dormitories after a much needed renovation! We have had boarding students using the upgraded facilities for all of Term 1 and they are enjoying the new bathroom facilities, floors, paint job and mattresses amongst other upgrades.
What a blessing to give our most vulnerable children the opportunity to live and learn in a fresh and clean environment!
