HCLS is progressively developing capability to provide more than just academics in the curriculum, by starting to prepare students for trades such as construction and tailoring. Construction students learn technical drawing, building set-out and practice bricklaying amongst other skills. The vision is to add carpentry,  animal husbandry and agriculture to the programs when resources are available. In the image above, Nadia is learning to use survey tools as part of the construction program. She is surveying the proposed bridge crossing for the HCLS bridge project, which you can read about here. Nadia’s dream is to become an engineer and we hope pathways can be found to help her and others realise their dreams!
